The representations of the superior end of the femur, the posterior superior and anterior superior iliac spines, as well as the sacrum serve as palpable landmarks for students to identify injection sites. Dorsogluteal, ventrogluteal, and vastus lateralis injections can be taught on this simulator, and a portion of the upper, outer quadrant of the left gluteal area has been cut away to help students visualize the gluteus medius and gluteus maximus muscles, sciatic nerve, and vascular structures.
